Privacy
Short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and unsubscribing from alerts deletes it. The detail below is the full policy.
Who we are
Caddence is a trading name of Jupe Engineering Technology Ltd (company number 16560893), registered in England and Wales. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the "data controller" for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy at privacy@caddence.golf.
What we collect
Price alerts. If you set an alert, we store the email address you give us, plus the product and target price you chose, so we can email you when the price drops.
Analytics. Anonymous, aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) through Google Analytics and PostHog, used to understand how the site is used. These run by default and can be switched off with "Necessary only" in the cookie banner.
Technical logs. Like any website, our servers automatically record limited technical data such as IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure and working.
Local storage. Products you save and your cookie choice are stored in your own browser. We never receive them. We do not require accounts, passwords or payment details, and we do not collect special-category data.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We process your alert email on the basis of your consent, given when you set the alert. We run analytics cookies on the basis of consent through the cookie banner. We keep technical logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and reliable.
How we use it
Your alert email is used only to send the price-drop notification you asked for. No marketing, no newsletters, no profiling, no sharing. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe that permanently deletes your alert and email from our systems.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our instructions: hosting (Hetzner, in Germany, and Vercel), transactional email for alerts (Resend), and analytics (Google Analytics and PostHog EU). Retailers you click through to are independent of us and set their own cookies under their own policies.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Alert data is kept until you unsubscribe, at which point it is deleted. Technical logs are kept only briefly, for security. Analytics data is retained according to the provider's standard settings and is not linked to you personally.
Cookies
We set one cookie to remember your consent choice. With analytics enabled, Google Analytics and PostHog set their own cookies to measure usage; "Necessary only" disables them. Retailers you visit may set cookies outside our control.
Security
We keep the data we hold to a minimum and protect it with standard measures, including encryption in transit. No service can promise perfect security, but holding very little is our first line of defence.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability. For alerts, the unsubscribe link does this instantly; for anything else, email privacy@caddence.golf. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
Caddence is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Given how little we collect, material changes are unlikely.
